My achievements for today, is to bake our daily bread and spend the day in bed with Man Flue. Go to Dr. for an ear infection and come home sicker than you were when before you first went.

One blessing I suppose, got an excuse to watch the VFL grand final in bed undisturbed. Wonder if I can do the same tomorrow for the NRL

    Sorry for your illness, RJ.

But I achieved this morning making strawberry protectors out of galv. bird wire.
Now we will see who is smarter, me or the rodents/fowls.

Thank ye flea, yeah we tried making strawberry protectors out of nylon mesh fishing nets last year but think I the rodents also got in and the sulphur crested cockatoos enjoyed chewing up the fishing net and had for desert.

This year we getting square mesh type wire with spacing big enough to let the bees in but endeavour to keep the other theiving rascles out. (now where did I put that electric fence charger that would work.) Bugger just remembered I sold it when we moved off the farm.

I'll wait till I get some more berries to test my new protectors out.
I have dozens of strawbs flowers at the moment.

We still have no bees here at the moment.
They all disappeared a few years ago.
I live on two acres of rain forest and never had trouble with lack of bees for over thirty years.

For the last three years I have hand pollinating my pumpkins.

Another thing, my friendly magpie has been rearing babies for as long as I can remember.
This year he is on his own for the first time.

I've been watching and feeling sorry for him for the last month.
What is happening to our planet ?

Well my critters kept away for the last three years. they have long range signs.

I do have a creek on my property, but I built way too high for it to flood on me.
20 minute drive uphill from the coast, so no tidel wave.
An hours drive from the dormant volcanoes in NSW.
Newcastle is the nearest place to have an earthquake.
And I have a 12 years of backups for my vaping.

    So I'm feeling safe. :shame:
