Got my first one today, a noisy cricket.

Built 0.6 ohm dual claptons, so a theoretical 90-100 watts, but I haven't measured output.

I'll build lower next build, not quite enough grunt in that factoring in the ramp up of clapton wire.

Pretty good though, I like it enough that I will order a series squonker from NZ.

Years ago I put a couple of 18350 batteries in a Silver Bullet but the atties back then weren't quite up to it.

    A bit harsh it was!

Must give it a go again some day.

What are you aiming for dogman?? Not really meant to go below .4 ohms on these sorts of devices.

Not sure. Might just try different wire. This clapton is good on parallel around 0.25, but making jumbo coils for series it loses something.

I've also forgotten how to drip, been a long while and I keep flooding it.

I have 25awg nichrome, but that may punch too hard. I could try it.

I wouldnt go that low personally, especially on a cricket. But if you are comfortable with it, then hopefully it goes well.

might trial a single macro coil in the clapton too, lots of experimenting to do

Try 24G, dual coils. 10 Wraps each, 2.5mm dia. Should come in around 0.5 and with very little ramp up compared to the claptons, but with good surface area for vapour production.

Sorry, I misread, I was talking kanthal. Nichrome will be a little different.

I rarely vape on a single (coil I assume you mean). The 24G dual is my general set up in tanks and RDA's.
When I do it is either a 32G twisted, parallel with a 24G single strand (again about 0.5ohm).
Alternately, 32/26 clapton at 7-8 wraps bringing in 0.8ohm, and this is the only time I will jack up a regulated mod to 5V to shorten the ramp up time (usually sit at 4.1V as my sweet spot).

Im sleepy, and a bit braindead, but the dual 24 (kanthal) should give you 140 Watts at 8.4V (nominal full charge), pulling 17ish amps.

removed one coil, 1.1 ohm now. Air flow is better, but not quite there. Might try a Z coil clapton at just shy of an ohm

Z coil really gets the air going. It is pretty tame. In the stumpy rda

But dense vapour. Unflavoured so no comment there. Warm but not hot. Needs tweaking, but close.

Tweaking. Waiting on charging batts, only bought one set for this mod. Dropped off production at about 3.9v

Question with series mechs do you get the same amount of amps but double the run time and parallel you get double the amps but single battery run time? Or is it the other way around?

Was thinking of getting a noisy cricket for my vapergeddon stash but only if I get same amps or volts or whatever as I build with a single 18650 as I only build around the 1ish ohm and like the vape I get from that generally. Had a lot on lately and have been using stock coils but for some odd reason I feel like I want to get back to rebuilding again. (maybe all this regulation going on I dunno) I quite like building basic coils.

8.4 volts instead of 4.2. MaH stays the same, battery amps the same, but the amp draw off say a 1 ohm coil will draw differently off the batteries since it is higher volts/watts

Thank you that's what I was trying to work out.
