As some of you know by now, I work for a large manufacturing company in Sydney. We have a large CNC sheet metal shop that specialises in Stainless steel fabrication. I have a mate that is a very talented welder, who is adept in SS sheet welding. He has offered to fabricate me a bespoke enclosure, if I would design it, and I'm considering accepting his offer. Now a rectangular box doesn't take a lot of design skill, and I am quite capable of drilling any holes or cutouts after it is complete. But do I go for a "hammond" style, rectangular box? A "C-frame" type of affair, with a sleeve, (which might not need any welding at all)? Or something completely different? The "door" is also giving me a headache, or rather, the method of closure. I'm not sure I would be happy with just epoxying on some magnets. Thoughts?
