I was out on Friday night at The Evelyn Hotel in Fitzroy for a CD launch and caught up with a friend (KK from a band called Destroyer 666) and he was vaping away. I didn't have a chance to find out what mod/tank it was, I'll have to find out if I catch up with him before he heads back to Europe.

In my new job I have seen a refreshing amount of vapers around the building and subjected to the smokers rooms like myself.
I've struck up a conversation with one of them and he's very happy with it. He was using a Pico kit but unfortunately I didn't get much time to have a proper chat.

Thinking ( in time) about asking about putting up a poster or something in regards to the benefits of vaping in the allocated smoking rooms.

nice way to alienate yourself from the other staff

really, if you don't like them, just be rude and tell them. Easier for everyone, and they'll hate you almost as much as if you put your posters up anyway

    Don't get your post.
Why would I alienate myself from other staff?

I'm not trying to preach to anybody but perhaps offering them the option of finding out more about vaping if they so desire.

Every smoker should have the choice to give up and I have personally found in WA that so many smokers think it's illegal to vape in this state.
I'm thinking about doing no more than try and assist and improve people's understanding of vaping and what it can offer.

As mentioned it's only an idea which I wouldn't implement yet anyway as I've only worked there five minutes and don't know any correct procedures yet.

How could I not like people I've never spoken too or haven't even met?

A poster is harmless enough and people have the choice to read it or not.
Personally I would never go up to a smoker and tell them about Vaping unless they made the first move and asked me about it. :)

Gasman, put some up in the smoking rooms ?
Can't see how it would hurt.

I agree. If it is not a direct approach it would only be offensive to the oversensitive.

Just had a pensioner lunch at Nerang RSL.
After lunch Mrs Flea went to play the pokies, I went to the smoking area for a beer & vape.
Woman at the table next to me vaped a silver AIO lookalike.

I held my iLeaf & melo2 up and asked if she had an AIO?
    She shrugged her shoulders.
I asked if that was what she had, an AIO?
She shook her head and turned away.

    I didn't know there were stuck-up vapers?

I guess even right bastards can vape. Lucky for me.
But, "do you have an A I owe?" is obviously not the most likely to succeed pick up line. Lol

She was with two men at the table, I assume one was her Husband?
I even said a friendly hello to the first male to sit down.

I'll live. What she doesn't know is what she missed. :)

    Course there are.
Also probably about 95% of the vapers in Oz aren't familiar with the TLAs and FLAs that are thrown about in here. So if she didn't know what an AIO was, she probably thought you were nuts or had mistaken her for somebody else.

    Thank you Gabby.
Just so you can keep up.....
I shortened "All in one" to AIO to save me typing a few letters & to make it easier to read, as I felt most people in here knew the meaning.

My comment on "stuck up vapers" was meant to lighten the mood.
Sorry it didn't work with you.

Peace, Flea. No offence intended at all by me. I enjoyed your post and was suggesting why she may have snubbed you.

I've also noticed that some folks in the 'smoking room' are a bit like this anyway. Reminds me of pommy trains some times.

I've also noticed that there are number of folks who disapprove of vaping as strongly as they do of smoking. It'll take some time for their education, I fear.

Thank goodness he wasn't smoking, wouldn't want him to get a fine now do we...
I've always wondered...If you can actually vape on the station platform? I've been treating it as if I was smoking so off before I get on the platform or gate.

You can now but as of 1st August you won't be able to vape anywhere you can't smoke.

I have always been a sheep and vaped in smoking areas but now I make an effort to vape in other areas, except indoor areas and then I ask before vaping, so people can see that it is nothing like smoking. No small, no smoke, no clouds but just an old lady not bothering anybody. Marewa Glover is a big supporter of vaping everywhere it is legal.

Two days ago I was putting shopping bags in the boot of the car,
I must have stopped for a vape as a woman backing out, stopped her car and asked me how long since I stopped smoking ?
She then showed me her cigalike and told me she buys them from the local markets.

We had a short chat before she drove off.
